Matt joined Haythorn Land & Cattle Co. in the
spring of 2009.
Matt got an early start and began training when he was in 7th grade and further pursued his passion while attending Colorado's Lamar Community College, working for Lloyd Cox in Ft. Morgan, Colorado, and managing a ranch for three years in Colorado.
Matt also trained in California and Texas.
We are very happy to have Matt on the Haythorn team!

Congratulations to McKinley Wilson
and "Quarter"!
McKinley purchased her first horse "Quarter" in February of 2009 and quickly went about preparing her and her new partner for the horse shows.
With this show season being the first time either of them would enter the arena they knew there was a lot of work ahead, but McKinley and Quarter exceeded all expectations!
The duo received the following honors:
• Western Pleasure -
1st place blue
• Showmanship - 2nd place blue in showmanship
• Horsemanship -
2nd place purple
• Pole Bending -
3rd place
• Halter & Barrel Racing - 4th place
• Halter - 4th place purple

Candice Hearting and Pepper
*Pepper is by Figure Four Woody 534 is a son of Eddie Preeta and the dam is a daughter of Four Whata Grey
Not only does Candice use Pepper for daily ranch work but the two have competed in several Extreme Cowboy Races.
Pepper has placed 3rd and 4th consistently, competing against seasoned 10-19 year old horses. This is a great accomplishment as Pepper is only 3-years-old.
We are glad to see Slushwood offspring competing in different disciplines.
